Engaging families in the decision-making processes that occur within Social Services and related systems (such as Public Schools, Mental Health, etc.) is a core focus of the center’s work. Currently, our primary means of doing this is the Family-Centered Practice Project, through which we deliver professional trainings and offer consulting and evaluation services. We are also a proud sponsoring member of the Family Agency Collaborative Training Team, which supports family-agency training partnerships. Our family engagement work builds upon the research of the Founding Director, Joan Pennell, who directed the  Family Group Decision Making Project in Canada and the North Carolina Family Group Conferencing Project. More information about the Family Leadership Network is coming soon.
